Packaging!!

Ok, on our soapbox for this post.. It’s criminal the amount of polystyrene being used today in packaging. The image shows a recent stock delivery and the resulting packaging that we have to dispose of responsibly at our own cost. Surely, in this day and age there must be a more eco-friendly packaging material that is easily recyclable? We are a smaller company, but there must be huge companies worldwide disposing of billions of tons of the stuff. We just hope most of it ends up being re-cycled in some way and not ending up in landfills.

Rugged Stainless PC | Biometric Fingerprint Scanners

New to market is our new Bioentry W2 Biometric Scanner equipped IP65 rated stainless steel touchscreen PC. The PC is ideal for use on building sites, in factories or warehousing where the movement and tally of staff can be remotely monitored in real time by using fingerprint recognition. This rugged PC can also be washed down making it perfect for food processing factories, medical environments or even the custodial services.

Working closely with our software partner, we can program the PC for a multitude of staff monitoring duties. The PCs can be supplied with optional outdoor shelters and door opening / locking operation.

UK Outdoor PC Shelters

We have been asked to look at providing a number of IP65 rated stainless steel Touchsceen PCs for outdoor use. One customer is wanting to integrate biometric scanners and tally software to monitor staff movement across a major road expansion project. We have achieved this and the units are being site tested now. We are aware that the biometric scanners may not work in direct sunlight so we are designing shelters to shield the PCs not only from light but also the heat of the sun. Not only will the PCs run cooler but will have additional protection from the worst UK weather.

These shelters will be ruggedly made and will be suitable for a wide range of environments including building sites, transport hubs, warehousing and public information. Tally or information software can be built in along with biometric scanners which can identify who is on a site at any particular time.

Waterproof Touchscreen PCs | We Beg To Differ | CabinetPro

The term ‘Waterproof’ can have so many connotations, so, I wonder what comes to your mind when someone tells you that something is waterproof? My interpretation is simple, if a ‘Waterproof’ item is dropped into the ocean, retrieved by a diver and then opened up, I expect it to be totally dry inside… If only it were that straightforward!!

Everyone is different when it comes to deciphering terms such as ‘Waterproof’, ‘Watertight’ or ‘Water Resistant’ so thats why we avoid using such terminology altogether when describing our PCs. Sadly thats not so with some of our competitors, making their product descriptions sometimes vague or possibly misleading.

Thats why we choose to use a scientific scale on which to rate our equipments ability to resist water, it’s called the IP rating. This rating is based on fact not fiction, so when looking around for a so called ‘Waterproof’ PC, always make sure the vendor has equipment with a suitable IP rating for the environment it’s going to be used in. Also it’s wise to check if the equipment is IP rated all round, and not just the front where the monitor sits. This is particularly important if the PC is going to be washed down etc.

Our stainless steel touch-screen PCs for example are fully IP65 protected all round and our connectors are rated at IP68. In real terms this means the PC will withstand “Water jets at low pressure projected by a nozzle (I.e a typical household hose) against the enclosure from any direction and have no harmful effects” plus our connectors protect against long periods of immersion under pressure. Both these ratings mean our PCs are perfectly safe for washing down in a food preparation facility or similar. Other makes may not be, leading to leaks, inner corrosion or maybe even electrical problems.

IP ratings also cover dust ingress and you will be pleased to know our IP65 rated PCs are protected against dust too.

As standard, CabinetPro Ltd provide a 12-month return-to-base warranty. However, we do offer a free 3 year RTB Warranty Policy option.

How can we possibly do that? The simple answer is that we have full confidence in our PCs because we only use very high quality, brand-name components. Plus, we hand build our PCs in our own clean and organised workshop in the UK. and each PC is thoroughly tested at every stage of assembly.

So, how do you qualify for a Free Extension to 3 Years?

Subject to your invoice being paid within the quoted/invoiced payment terms (Normally 14 days from delivery), the standard 12-month warranty will be automatically extended to 36 months. It’s as simple as that – no application required, no additional forms to fill in, no tricks!
